Edward Gail Knowles, 88 of Calico Rock, Arkansas passed away Saturday May 20, 2017 in Mountain Home, AR, following a long and full life serving his country, community, family and friends.

He was born on October 21, 1928 in Knob Creek, Arkansas to parents Thomas Milzie Knowles and Birtie Cheatham. In his early years, Gail served in the Koren war as a Gunnery Sergeant , later graduating from the University of Arkansas with a bachelors degree in electrical engineering. After working for Boeing in Wichita, KS he returned to Calico Rock, AR. to join his father in the family business, Western Auto. Gail also served as a member of the First Baptist Church of Calico Rock, AR.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Peggy (Mason) Knowles; his daughters, Jan Cantrell and Suzette Johnson, his son Rick Knowles, sister Betty King, eight grandchildren, five great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, son Kenny Lynn Knowles, sister Lavern Cone, brothers J.R. Knowles, Darrell Knowles, Bill Knowles and his great grand daughter Aria Bennett.

Cremation entrusted to Wilson Robison Funeral Home of England, Arkansas.
