Idel Burkett Obituary

Idel Vint  Burkett joined her heavenly father on January 16th, 2019 after 90 fruitful years of loving the Lord and leaving a lasting impact on all she came in contact with. She was born on the cold evening of January 4th, in Coy, Arkansas. After the early death of her mother, Idel became the matron of her family that consisted of 6 siblings. As a teen, she fell deeply in love with her childhood sweetheart, Melvin Curtis Burkett, and married shortly after his return from the Navy at the end of World War II on August 21st in 1946.  Idel, along with her devoted husband filled every minute of the day with the raising of their two children, Curtis Earl Burkett and Ledi Kay Duck, and maintaining a home. As time moved on, a new season of life and calling presented an opportunity to give back to the community and share a passion for Christ. Together , Melvin and Idel, established  a church in their hometown of England, Arkansas. Trinity Tabernacle Full Gospel Church was established in 1980, and presented a platform for Idel to showcase a variety of her natural talents for teaching and her compassion for others through her leadership of the ladies auxiliary and as assistant pastor, and her ministry from the pulpit as an ordained minister.  The legacy continues on through many  of her family. in her golden years, she continued her passions of creativity and continued her effortless gardening, which resulted in a yard full of the most beautiful blooms. In  the role of grandmother, and eventually great grandmother, she found time to sew costumes for school plays , attend concerts, lead a girl scout troop for 10 years, give advice, and comfort countless tears.

Vint,, Vester Vint, and Buddy McGarity , her sister, Pearl Stracner, a son, Army Sp. 4 Curtis E.
