Charles Rodrick Goodrich, Chuck to those who knew him, went to his heavenly home on
December 27, 2024. Originally from Suffolk, VA, Chuck lived for the past 30 years in Little
Rock. Chuck was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
A 50-year member of both the Masonic Lodge and the Order of the Eastern Star, Chuck rose
to the office of Worthy Grand Patron (the highest office in the state) for Arkansas in 2017.
Chuck was no newcomer to holding an office in the various organizations he held
membership. On May 22, 1969, Chuck was raised to Master Mason. He was a past
Worshipful Master in the Masonic Lodge as well as High Priest for the York Rite Chapter,
Thrice Illustrious Master for the York Rite Council, Eminent Commander for the York Rite
Commandery, and Past Patron of the Order of the Eastern Star (chapters in Franklin, VA and
Little Rock, Ark). Lastly, Chuck was a member of the Shriner Club Oriental Band in
Birmingham, Alabama, and the American Legion.
Chuck was an avid golfer and is the past president of the Arkansas Pro-Am Golf
Association. Before his knee replacement in 2014, you could find Chuck at any of the
numerous greens across the state every Friday. Chuck was also a past president of the
Arkansas Lions Club. When not on the golf course or at one of his many meetings, Chuck
could be found spending time with his great-granddaughters, tinkering in his yard, or riding
his mower through the neighborhood to visit. One thing can be said about Chuck, he never
met a stranger!
Chuck held many careers in his 91 years of life. One of which was a member of the 33rd
Infantry attached to the 101st Airborne of the US Army for the Korean War. Chuck worked
for Union Camp for approximately 16 years before moving on to management for multiple
retail establishments including Moore-Handley Homecrafters in Alabama and Walmart in
Texas. He spent the last 30 years working as a realtor in the Central Arkansas area helping
many families realize their dream of homeownership.
Chuck is survived by his daughters Sheri`Sutton of Fayetteville, Ark, Chandra Stancil of
Christiansburg, VA, grandchildren Samantha Moores (Jon) of Benton, Ark, Seth Sutton of
Fayetteville, Ark, great-grandchildren Sasha and Scarlet Moores of Benton, Ark, and
