Debbie Renee Derden Cook, 58, of Panama City Beach, Florida passed away from this life surrounded by her loved ones at home on October 30, 2022. She was born to Jerry and Peggy Derden on March 9, 1964, in Stuttgart, Arkansas. She graduated from Stuttgart High School in 1982 and went on to study Fashion Merchandising at South Central Career College where she earned her Associates Degree in 1983.
Debbie had a talent for interior design and fashion. She enjoyed decorating homes and businesses. She was an avid shopper who relished spoiling and styling others. Debbie was a true beauty whose smile could light up a room. She competed in pageants growing up and later went on to compete in Mrs. Arkansas where she made the Top 10 while receiving the Platform and Pageant Excellence awards.
She loved to travel, listen to live music, and watch football. Her free spirit and fun personality made it easy for strangers to become friends. Eventually some of those friendships grew to feel more like family. She leaves behind many whose lives she has forever touched.
Debbie is preceded in death by her mother, Peggy Derden; brother, Jeff Derden; and son, Cameron Cook. Survivors include her husband of 32 years: Eddie Cook; three children: Lane and Josh Williams of Jonesboro, AR, Holdan and Mallory Hargis of Sherwood, AR, and Braci and Logan Edmonson of Fort Smith, AR; Her father, Jerry Derden of Cabot, AR; seven grandchildren: Abby, Jayce, Lola, and J.J. Williams of Jonesboro, AR, Tyler Chapman and Allie Ryan of Sherwood, AR, and Saban Edmondson of Fort Smith, AR; nephew, Jeff Derden of Stuttgart, AR; and great-nephew, Tripp Derden of Stuttgart, AR; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
A Celebration of Life was held in Callaway, Florida on Monday, November 14th at the Callaway Arts & Conference Center. Visitation was held from 4:00-6:00 pm with service starting at 6:00 pm.
A Celebration of Life will be held in England, Arkansas on Monday, November 21st at Wilson-Robison Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 12:00-1:00 pm with service starting at 1:00 pm.
The family requests that memorials to honor Debbie be made to Local Mpact of Arkansas, a nonprofit organization that supports families who have experienced infant loss.
