Etta Marie (Phillips) Edens

Etta Marie Edens, 89 of Cabot, Arkansas, went to be with the Lord October 20, 2021. She was born in Carlisle, Arkansas, on November 19, 1931, to Otha Finis Phillips Sr. and Bertha Hildey (Daniels) Phillips as the second of their seven surviving children. Etta was a homemaker and spent almost her entire life in and around Lonoke County. She loved to cook, complete word-search puzzle books, read her Bible, and spend time with her family. Etta was also a stay-at-home Nanny for many years to over a dozen children in the England and Keo communities.

In addition to her parents, Etta was preceded in death by her husband of 72 years, Rev. Herman J. Edens, who passed away June 25, 2021, and her youngest son, Tim Edens, who passed away on October 14, 2021. As the final surviving child of Otha and Bertha Phillips, she was also preceded in death by her sisters Ruth Morgan, Ola Putt, and Joyce Ingle. Her brothers Otha Finis Phillips Jr, Roy Phillips, and Wayne Phillips.

She is survived by her two sons, Eddie (Debbie) Edens of Redfield, Arkansas and Gary (Chasity) Edens of Bryant, Arkansas. One daughter, Gayla Ritchie of Searcy Arkansas. Eight grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild and a host of nephews, nieces, and extended family.

Visitation and funeral services for Etta and her son, Tim Edens, will be on Saturday, October 23, 2021 at Wilson Robison Funeral Home. A visitation will be held at 1:00PM with service to follow at 2:00PM. Burial will follow at Center Point Cemetery in Hazen, Arkansas, under the direction of Wilson Robison Funeral Home in England.
