Gary D. “Papa” Collins (Easy), 73, went to join his family on March 2, 2019 in North Little Rock, AR. Surrounded by his beautiful wife of 53 years, Carole Collins and his side kick and daughter, Tonna Garrison. He was born on November 9, 1945 to John and Marvell Collins. Gary was a member of the Landmark Baptist Church of England, AR. Gary started as a teenager pumping gas for Ralph Lynch service station in England, AR. He also enjoyed old cars and fixing and racing them. Later, he owned an auto repair shop with Jimmy Mitchell. He worked for 15 years for ADC Tucker Unit in the bus garage where he retired 5 years ago and he also worked at Kroger to stay busy. He loved piddling in his shop, hunting, fishing and teaching his daughter all of life lessons and how to learn to stand on her feet. Also, he enjoyed every minute with his granddaughters. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Glenda Kaye Darling and brother, Bob Collins.
He is survived by his wife, Carole Collins, his daughter, Tonna Garrison (Ben) of England, AR., granddaughters: Gracie Rae Coppess of England and Ansley Coppess of De Witt, AR,. One great grandson, J.D. Collins and sister Joy Osborne of North Little Rock, AR. He was a member of the gossip table at a local restaurant in England, AR. His hugs and smile will be missed by his many friends and family.
Funeral service will be Tuesday at 6:00 p.m. at Wilson Robison Funeral Home in England, AR. with visitation from 6-8 p.m. at Landmark Baptist Church, Monday March 4, 2019. Private burial will be at Union Valley in Coy. Wilson Robison Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Bone Marrow Foundation.
