Gerald "Jerry" Franklin Simpson, Jr.

Gerald “Jerry” Franklin Simpson, Jr., 76, of England, Arkansas, passed away Friday, September 1, 2023. He was the son of Gerald Simpson, Sr., and Mary Jean Stubbs Simpson.  He was born in Pine Bluff, Arkansas on November 1, 1946.

A lifetime resident of Arkansas, Jerry was a pipefitter for the Union Pacific Railroad and a veteran of the United States Air Force. He was a baseball coach for many years and loved by all his ball players. He was an avid duck hunter, loved fishing, enjoyed grilling and cooking with Tammy Krisell Simpson for the holidays. Jerry’s sense of humor brought joy into the lives of everyone he met. He loved to listen to classic rock and roll music. He was very intelligent and amazing with a gentle soul, loved by all who knew him and will be greatly missed. He loved and cherished his family with all his heart.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Gerald, Sr. and Mary Jean Simpson, and stepson, Stephen Glover. He is survived by his wife and best friend for over 20 years, Tammy Krisell Simpson; a brother, Kenneth Simpson of Hensley; a sister, Sharon Lusinger of Hot Springs Village; two sons, Chris Simpson of Conway, and Jeffery (Amanda)  Simpson of Searcy; and seven grandchildren: Chris’ children Cacy, Cody, and Clay Simpson; Jeffery’s children, Weston and Ashleigh Simpson; and Stephen’s children, Stephen and Lily Glover. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Jerry is in the care of Wilson Robison Funeral Home of England. Visitation will be Saturday, September 9, 2023, from 1:00PM to 2:00PM in the Chapel. Memorial services will follow at 2:00PM. Online condolences can be sent to www.wilsonrobisonfhengland@com
