Gordon R Smith

Gordon R. Smith, 83, passed away on May 2nd, 2024, at National Park Medical Center. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 55 years, Marie Linville Smith and sister, Jeanetta Smith of Hot Springs.  Gordon was a man of many talents and accomplishments. He was the former owner of Thornton Funeral Services of Mount Ida, Razorback Amusements and Vending, and other businesses in Hot Springs, Mount Ida, and surrounding areas. His entrepreneurial spirit and dedication to his work made a lasting impact on his community.

He is survived by his loving family: his son, J. Scott Smith; daughter, Jenifer S. Smith; grandson, Devin Scott Smith (Kristen); granddaughter, Lily Smith; great-grandson, Carter Smith; granddaughters, Raegen and Frankie Smith—all of Hot Springs. He also leaves behind a very special friend and companion, Uvonne B. Wheeler of Mount Ida. Additionally, he is survived by his brother, Merwyn Smith (Diana), and sister, Rita Haley (Fred), both of Hot Springs, along with several nieces and nephews.

Private services were held prior to cremation by Wilson-Robison Funeral Home of England, AR.
