She was a farmer’s daughter. Joyce May Bradshaw was the first born child of G.T. and Mabel Bradshaw born on October 6th 1936. They lived a meager life on a small farm in Wright, Arkansas. This family of 3 grew to include her siblings, Betty Gillespie, Kathy Yarbrough, Jerry Bradshaw, Sandie Smith, Faith Fields and later Matt Bradshaw.
Joyce went to school at Plum Bayou at Wright. It was there that she fell in love with the love of her life, Buddy Clubbs. After graduation they were married and she became a military wife when Buddy joined the army.
Joyce was the mother of 3 children. Rick (Bege), Bill, Michelle (Terry). She was grandmother and Nawnee to 6 grandchildren; Chris (Heather) Clubbs, Shane (Shaina) Clubbs, Casey, Geni Clubbs, Lindsey (Clint) Cook and Krista (Allen) Wells and 10 great grandchildren; Tanner, Madison, Ryan, Lacey, Corey Clubbs, Hunter and Heston Wells, and Conner Cook and 2 great- great grandchildren Camden and Saylor Clubbs.
She was an accomplished seamstress sewing and designing everything from fully lined suits to wedding gowns adorned with seed pearls, lace appliques and sequins.
Joyce became a successful business woman in the field of cotton warehousing when women weren’t yet accepted in that area of agricultural business. She was General Manager of Arkansas Cotton Warehouse for a number of years.
After her retirement she began acquiring rental properties for renovation and lease. She continued to care for the family she so dearly loved. She also, enjoyed projects with her ladies group, The Stitches that Binds, at First Baptist Church of England.
Joyce was a member of First Baptist and loved her church family and above all she loved her Lord. She was a strong Christian woman with complete trust in God to see her through whatever challenges life brought.
She fought a valiant battle with cancer and victory was won on May 8th 2024 at 2:20 pm when God sent for her to come live in the place He had prepared for her in Heaven.
Visitation will be Friday, May 24th from 6pm-8pm at Wilson Robison Chapel. Graveside Service will be at Mulberry Cemetery Saturday, May 25th 1pm.
