Michael Christopher Smith

Michael Christopher Smith, 47, of Maumelle, Arkansas, passed away, Monday, March 4, 2024.  He was born in Little Rock on July 6, 1976, to Rickey N. Smith and Terri Moore Craig.

Michael’s passion in life was his two daughters, Hannah and Emily. He loved them more than life itself, doing for them whatever they needed or wanted. He loved all his family, especially his grandson, Myloh. He was, also, very protective of his family. With a heart of gold, Michael was a compassionate soul, and a very kind and gentle man. Helping others was a part of who he was.

Michael enjoyed making memories with his daughters. He would take them fishing and camping; and every weekend they went to Wild River Country. Many memories were made!

Michael was a construction worker for much of his life. In his spare time, he enjoyed going to flea markets, collecting old coins and baseball cards.

Michael is survived by his parents, dad, Rick Smith, his step-mother, Lynda Smith, both of Benton, and his mother, Terri Craig of Maumelle; his sister, Suricca (Jeremie) Newsom of Sherwood; his daughters, Hannah Williams and son, Myloh, of North Little Rock, and Emily Williams of Sheridan; step-sister, Kristie Johnson of Little Rock; step-brothers, Scott (Jessica) Fox of Benton and John (Jessica) Fox of Bryant; a niece Kayla Newsom; a nephew, David Newsom; a special best friend, Bill Shelby of Morrilton; and a host of other family members and friends.

The family would like to thank the staff at The Lakes at Maumelle, Arkansas, for their outstanding care of Michael.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, March 9, 2024, at Trinity Baptist Church, 702 Church Street, Benton, Arkansas 72015. Visitation will be from 1:00PM to 2:00PM. The Memorial Services will begin at 2:00PM. The services will be officiated by Bro. Ted Grove, Gentiva Hospital Chaplain.
