Nancy Lou Tardy was born in April 9, 1938, in Keo, Arkansas and passed away on July 26, 2025 from multiple health issues at Cavalier Nursing Home in England, Arkansas .
Nancy is a graduate of Texas Women’s University with a degree specializing in Speech Therapy and Special Education. Nancy was a proud teacher with a career spanning decades in both Houston Public Schools and in the Houston-Galveston Catholic Archdiocese, teaching fourth grade. The highlight of her teaching career was helping establish the St. Regis School for Boys in Houston. Even after retiring, she continued her passion for teaching, working at the Adult Literacy Council in Lonoke, Arkansas as a member of AmeriCorps. She did this while being mayor of her birthplace of Keo, serving for three consecutive terms.
She is proceeded in death by her parents, E.D. Cobb and Eloise Cobb, and former husband Samuel J. Tardy, jr.
Nancy is survived by her Son, Samuel Eugene Tardy, brother Don Cobb, and Sister in Law, Katherine “Kitty” Tardy. This includes also numerous relations and friends.
Cremation services are entrusted Wilson-Robison Funeral Home, 701 Pine Bluff Highway, England, Arkansas.
