Nettie LaRue Theodore, 67, of Sherwood, formerly of England, Arkansas, went to her heavenly home, Sunday, September 24, 2023. She was the daughter of the late John C. and Emma Lee Kolb Rushing. She was born in Lake Charles, Louisiana, on August 12, 1956.
Nettie was in the banking business, starting as a teller and advancing until she was bank manager. She was a dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved her children and grandchildren dearly. She loved to cook and took her job as homemaker very seriously. She enjoyed singing in church, especially at First Baptist Church, England, where she frequently sang with a group of ladies called The Master’s Touch. She also helped lead the Handbells during church services. She was an avid bird watcher.
Nettie was preceded in death by her parents, John and Emma Rushing; a brother, Johnny Rushing; and a sister, Barbara Quillin. She is survived by her loving husband, Pete Theodore; five brothers, Ronnie (Shar) Rushing of Nebraska; James (Brenda) Rushing of Watson Chapel; Randy (Regina) Rushing of Woodlawn; Gary (Cathy) of Sulphur Springs, and Phillip (Kathy) Rushing of Hensley; two sisters, Donna (Doug) Connor of Redfield and Sherri Rushing of Hensley; two sons, Robby (Heather) Theodore of North Little Rock and Chris (Maggie) Theodore of Hot Springs; five grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
There will be a visitation at First Baptist Church, England, from 9:00am to 10:00am Saturday, September 30, 2023. A Celebration of Life will follow at 10:00am.
