Perlena Price
Mother Perlena Price was born August 15, 1926, in Lonoke County, and departed this life on June 3, 2021, at 94 years old.
She was the daughter of the late Wesley and Evelena Howard. She was a nurse assistant, house keeper, and a great Nanny for many years of her life.
Mother Price confessed in Christ at an early age. In her later years of life, she united with First Missionary Baptist Church in England, under the leadership of the late Pastor L. T. Thomas. She served on the Pastors Committee and was the mother of the church, under the leadership of Pastor Leon Hawkins, until health began to decline.
Mother Price was preceded in death by her son, Freddie Jackson; her siblings, Lee Esther Howard, Jean Howard, Edna Boatwright, Dorothy Calhoun, Jesse Donahue (step-sister), Nathanial Howard, Wesley Howard, Jr., Carl Byrd (step-Brother), and Willie Hollaway (step-brother).
She leaves to cherish her memory, her grandchildren, Florence Welch and Fredrick Jackson, both of Whitehaven, Memphis, TN, and Aisha Jackson, of Chicago, IL; a very special niece that she loved as a daughter, Arbeline Jackson, of England; her ex-daughter-in-law, Shirley Morris of Whitehaven, Memphis, TN; her caregiver, Shuna Adams; 2 wonderful cousins, Finnie “Brown” Harris and L.C. “Sunbaby” Coleman; her sister in Christ, Betty Scribner; and 2 special friends, Linda Hampton and Nick Purdy of England; several great-grands and great-great-grands; and a host of family and friends.
Visitation will be 1:00PM-2PM at First Missionary Baptist Church, followed by the funeral services at 2:00PM with Pastor Leon Hawkins officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Coy, following the services.
Masks will be required when entering the church.
