Robert “Bob” McCall, 74, of England, AR was called to his heavenly home on Wednesday, August 11, 2021, surrounded by his family.
He was born on October 4, 1946 in Walnut Ridge, AR to James Woodrow and Maxine McCall.
He moved to the Sherrill community in the 1950’s. After graduating Wabbaseka high school, he lived and farmed in the Gethsemane community until 1984; he then moved to the Wright community and perused a trucking career with Fleming Foods. After several years of trucking, he returned to his love of farming. He was Fire Chief of the Wright-Pastoria Fire Department, and retired from the fire department with thirty years of service.
Bob loved his family, friends and community. He had a special bond, with his oldest Grandson, Brandon McCall. They enjoyed doing everything together. Where you saw one, you usually saw the other. They both loved spending time tinkering on tractors/ lawnmowers , farming, going to auctions and just spending time together.
He was a devout child of God, and faithfully attended Plum Bayou Baptist Church in Wright, AR.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Marcus Gene McCall, a brother James McCall, and a sister, Francis McCall.
He is survived by his loving wife of fifty four years, Betty McCall, of Wright, one son, Michael (Susie) McCall of Hot Springs Village, and two special grandsons, Brandon McCall of Huntsville, AR and Cameron McCall of Springdale, AR, and six brothers, Glenn (Tina) McCall of Kansas City, MO, John (Joann) McCall of White Hall, Sam (Carolyn) McCall of Humphrey, Ed (Donna) McCall of White Hall, Richard (Brenda) McCall of Fayetteville, Tom (Vickie) McCall of Jefferson and three sisters, Jane (Bobby) Alexander of Atkins, Sue (Robert) Lovelace of Kearney, MO and Shirley Woodall of Van Buren, MO.
Visitation will be Friday, August 13, from 6-8:00 pm at Wilson-Robison Funeral Home Chapel, In England, AR. Funeral services will be Saturday, August 14, 2021 at 10:00 am at Wilson-Robison Funeral Home in England, AR, with Brother Gary Alverson officiating. Burial will be in Union Valley Cemetery near Co
