Ronnie Kay (Red) Clark, 76, of Lonoke, Arkansas, went home to his Heavenly Father on October 27, 2023, at Baptist Hospital, Little Rock, Arkansas. Ronnie passed peacefully in his sleep after a three-month illness.
Ronnie was born January 13,1947, in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, to the Late Olan Vonnie Lewis Clark and the late Cecial Ann Hensley Clark. He lived most of his life in Pine Bluff, eventually retiring to the community of Brodie Bend, outside England, Arkansas. In 2018 he moved to Lonoke.
Ronnie had a diverse working career, including co-owning a distribution company, deck hand on riverboats, pest control technician, mowing the sides of highways for the Arkansas Highway Department, and Corrections Officer for the Arkansas Department of Corrections from which he retired. One of his favorite jobs was mowing. It gave him the time and freedom to contemplate and commune with God and nature. He even mowed yards for neighbors and friends for free just because he enjoyed it. He liked looking back after he mowed and seeing what he had accomplished.
In addition to his parents, Ronnie was preceded in death by Betty Crotwell, with whom he spent 27 years, his sister Ann Clark McGaugh, and his brother Larry David Clark.
He is survived by his brother Vonnie O. (Gracie) Clark of Woodlawn, his sister Ellen Clark (the late Tommy) Culbreath of Bryant, and brother Jackie Harrel Clark (Kathy) of Montana, four nieces and four nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held at noon Saturday, November 11, 2023 in the Senior Citizens Center, One Newberry Court, Lonoke, Arkansas. All friends are welcome.
Ronnie was in the care of Wilson Robison Funeral Home of England.
