Sharon Murrah Nichols, 76, of Star City, was called to her Heavenly home on April 15, 2022. She was the daughter of Floyd and Floy Emerson Murrah. She was born in Little Rock on October 5, 1945.
Sharon received her law degree from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. She was a well- established attorney in south Arkansas. She opened her law office in Pine Bluff in 1981. She was a member of the Arkansas Bar Association for 43 years. During that time, she served as the first female president of the Jefferson County Bar Association, as well as holding each of the other offices of the Board of Directors. She was a founding member of the adhoc committee for the formation of the battered womens’ shelter in Pine Bluff. She was also a CASA volunteer.
Sharon was a member of the England Church of Christ.
Sharon enjoyed working in her yard, playing board games with her nieces and nephews, and loved to go fishing.
Sharon is preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Doll Murrah Spradlin; one nephew James Edward Spradlin and one niece Laura Spradlin Slaughter. Sharon is survived by her husband of 16 years, Van Nichols; three nephews, Carson Slaughter, Cameron Slaughter, and Jesse Spradlin; one niece, Joy Spradlin; and a very special friend, Samantha Binns.
