Shirley Ann Parnell, age 85, of El Dorado, AR, passed away peacefully on February 25, 2026. Born on December 7, 1940, she was the beloved daughter of Ellis Walter Coke and Annie May Kelley (Ponder).
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; her sisters Deborah Kay Coke, Rhonda Gail Sweet (Coke), Jennifer Patrick (Coke), and Ann May Clawson (Coke) and her brothers Earl Gene Coke and Ted Larry Kelley.
She is survived by her daughter, April Marie Anderson; granddaughter, Adrienne Muriel Anderson; and great-grandson, Luke Daniel Anderson-Snyder, her sisters Doris Marie Miller (Coke), Linda Gail Del Rio (Coke), Mary Alice Blakesley (Coke) (Gordon), Karen Lee Bricklen (Kelley), Ellen Faye Slaughter (Coke), and Janice Carol Golden (Coke) (Alvin), her brothers Ellis Ray Coke, Larry Dale Coke, Jimmy Walter Coke and numerous nieces and nephews.
Shirley enjoyed a long career as an administrative assistant at Great Lakes Chemical Corporation, where she retired after many dedicated years of service. She will be remembered for her sharp intelligence, her kind and generous heart, and her deep love of animals. She touched the lives of everyone around her with warmth and compassion and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Memorial Service will be held at 350 Campbell Road, El Dorado, AR in the Parkers Chaple community at 11am on Saturday, May 16th, 2026.
