Timothy Paul Edens

Timothy Paul “Tim” Edens, 49, of Cabot, formerly of England, went to his heavenly home on Thursday, October 14, 2021. Tim was the youngest son of the late Pastor Herman J. Edens and his mother, Etta Marie Phillips Edens. He was born in Beebe, Arkansas, on September 8, 1972. He was of the Pentecostal faith.

Tim graduated from Arkansas State University-Jonesboro, summa cum laude, with a Bachelor’s degree in TV & Radio Communications. He  considered himself to be a journalist. He was very articulate and creative with his spoken and written language expression. During his college days, he was a disc jockey for a local radio station in Jonesboro. Tim graduated from England High School.as salutatorian. While in high school, he worked for Jerry Jackson at the England Democrat.

Before returning to Arkansas, Tim worked for the Texas Department of Human Services as a computer specialist in the financial area of the Department.

Tim was a loving and caring son. The last several years of his life, he took care of his aging parents with such loving care. He took pride in the fact that his father, just days after his death in June, 2021, received a lapel pin for preaching the Gospel for 60 years.

Tim loved his family. He loved his brothers, but had a special bond with his sister, Gayla, who has wonderful memories of the day her mother brought Tim home from the hospital and placed him in her arms. To Gayla, he was “her baby,” loving him dearly all of his life.

Tim loved his four cats and photography. He enjoyed photographing his cats and had multitudes of creative and professional level photos of his beloved cats. Tim also enjoyed spending time working on family genealogy, and had completed work on both the Edens and Phillips families.

Tim was preceded in death by his father, Herman Edens. He is survived by his mother, Etta Edens; his brothers, Eddie (Debbie) Edens of Redfield and Gary (Chasity) Edens of Bryant; his sister Gayla Ritchie of Searcy; a host of nieces and nephews; and many special friends in Texas and Arkansas.

Visitation and funeral services for Tim and his mother, Etta Marie Edens, will be Saturday, October 23, 2021, at 1:00PM at Wilson Robison Chapel. Funeral services will follow at 2:00PM.
