Vera Ruth (Brazeal) Rice

Vera Ruth Rice, 82, of Ravenden, Arkansas, went to be with her LORD, Friday, October 14, 2022. Born in Humnoke, on July 11, 1940, she was the daughter of Lucious and Mae Crouch Brazeal.

Vera loved life and stayed busy enjoying it. She loved spending time with her family and cooking for them. Her sons noted she was an excellent cook. She was a Christian, attended the Methodist Church near her home, and sang in the church choir. She was blessed with many talents, including creating crafts, crocheting, gardening, playing cards, and especially enjoyed woodworking and carpentry. She was truly a “jack-of-all trades.”

Vera was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Jimmy George and Lester Brazeal and Tolli Wallace; and sister, Veneta Frazier. She is survived by her loving husband, James Rice; brothers, Walter (Norma Jean) Brazeal of Denton, Texas, and Wayne Brazeal of Mississippi; sisters, Virginia Robinson of Coy, Helen Harris of Memphis, Tennessee and Betty Jo Brown of England; sons, Floyd Dewberry of Waco, Texas, Lloyd (Donna) Dewberry of Almira,  Timothy (Christina) Dewberry of Higden, Donnie Rice of DeValls Bluff, and Jimmy (Susan) Rice of Michigan; daughter, Jodi (Burton) Lamphree of Michigan; 11 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren, and a host of family and friends in England, Humnoke, and Ravenden.

Pallbearers are Will Dewberry, Clay Brazeal, Jason Brazeal, Dennis Webb, Mark Webb, and Bart Webb.

Visitation will be from 1:00pm to 2:00pm on Friday, October 21, 2022, at Wilson Robinson Funeral Home Chapel. Services will follow at 2:00pm. The Reverend John Stoll will be conducting all services.
