Wayne “Skody Wayne” Edmond Brazeal ,74, of Mendenhall, Mississippi, passed away October 14, 2023, in Magee, Mississippi, with his son, Brandon, and daughter-in-law, Anna, and his good friend, Scott, by his side. He was the son of Lucious Leo and Elsie Mae Crouch Brazeal. He was born on September 12, 1949, in Geridge, Arkansas.
Wayne was drafted into the Army during the Vietnam War at 19 years old. He was a Specialist Fourth Class. While in Vietnam, he earned the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal, and the Vietnam Campaign Medal. He served his country proudly. He was a retired Licensed Electrician and an avid outdoorsman. He never met a stranger; he was loved by all and will be missed by many.
Wayne was preceded in death by his parents;1 son, Joshua Wayne Brazeal; 3 brothers, Lester Leo, Jimmy George, and Tolli Wallace Brazeal; and 2 sisters, Venita Frazier and Vera Ruth Rice. He is survived by his son, Brandon (Anna) Brazeal of Arkadelphia; 5 grandchildren, Summer Brazeal and great grandson, Jace Coughlin of Searcy, Colton, Cole, Brantley, and Camden Brazeal, and a step-granddaughter, Eva Williams, all of Arkadelphia; 3 sisters, Virginia Robinson of Coy, Betty Joe Brown of England, and Helen Harris of Memphis, Tennessee; a brother Walter Brazeal of Denton, Texas; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends who loved him dearly.
Visitation will be at 11:00am, Thursday, October 19, 2023, at Macedonia Baptist Church in Humnoke. Funeral Services will be following at 12:00pm. Interment will be at Flynn Cemetery in Humnoke.
