Willadeen “Winkle” Stone of Redfield, Arkansas passed away on March 13, 2026 at the age of 75 surrounded by her loving and adoring family, leaving behind a legacy of love and devotion.
Winkle, as she was affectionately called, was born to Mayola Driskell Wimpy and William O. “Bill” Driskell on April 27, 1950 in Paragould, Arkansas.
Winkle exhibited qualities of a true Proverbs 31 woman, “She speaks with wisdom and teaches with kindness. She opens her mouth with discretion, and on her tongue is the law of kindness”. Winkle was a quiet, thoughtful true southern lady, who loved quietly, but fiercely. She lived a life devoted to her family and those she loved and was known for her kindness, gentle nature and the warmth she extended to everyone she met. Her quiet strength and loving spirit made a lasting impact on all who knew her. Winkle will be remembered for her compassion, her steady presence and the love she gave so freely.
She graduated from Jonesboro High School and attended the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville, Arkansas where she met the love of her life, Mike Stone. Mike and Winkle were united in marriage on December 30, 1970 and to this union 2 precious children were born.
In her children’s younger years, she owned and operated Wee Winkles Smocking in Pine Bluff, Arkansas where she taught smocking, French hand sewing and created beautiful clothing. In her later years, she continued to enjoy creating exquisite handmade clothing for her children, grandchildren and family. Winkle was also a bookkeeper for many local businesses.
Winkle was preceded in death by her parents, her stepfather George Norman Wimpy, and brothers Walter Anderson (Sonny) Archer and Ernest Gene Archer.
Winkle is survived by her devoted husband of 55 years, Mike Stone, her precious children Chad (Ashley) Stone and Hallie (Chris) Keen both of Redfield. She was a devoted and doting Memaw to Hannah and Sophie Stone and Katie Grace Keen.
She is also survived by her twin sister, Kathleen Godwin of Stuttgart and numerous nieces and nephews.
Although you can’t be here with me, we are truly not apart……you will always live in my heart.
There will be a memorial service Saturday March 28, 2026 2PM at the River Road Baptist Church 723 River Road Redfield, Arkansas. Pastor David Gilbert will be officiating.
Cremation services are entrusted to Wilson-Robison Funeral Home 701 Pine Bluff Highway England, Arkansas.
